Out of the Northern California Bay Area, Will Evankovich has had a twenty-five year career creating original and commercial music for a variety of projects. His skill set combines Music Production, Composition, Music Direction, Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and Mandolin, for live and studio performance.
Will’s first success was with a band he founded in the early 90s called Mason Lane. The progressive rock group signed with Veto records, recorded two studio albums, and toured nationally.
After deciding that he needed a change to a more commercial sound, he founded San Francisco based pop/rock group “The Stereo Flyers”. The band signed with Interpool records, released a studio album, and toured the US and Europe with radio success.
This was followed in 1998 by 2 EP releases and a national tour with a Seattle-based rock project called “Grace” featuring Peter Cornell, and Ben Smith (Heart).
In 2003, Evankovich founded a new Roots/Alternative rock band by the name of American Drag, who released it's first album in 2005, followed by its sophomore release “Out Of The Sky” in 2009. The band is currently active on and off and working on a third release. Will spent 2007,08, and 09 touring with Shaw/Blades alongside Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger.
In 2010, Will played guitar on the hugely-successful debut of the Green Day Broadway Musical “American Idiot” in Berkeley, Ca. for it's 4 month run.
Will makes his living in addition to live performance working in the studio producing, arranging and engineering artists. He is proficient in reading and writing music and has worked extensively with vocalists.
Will’s resume includes him recording and or performing with an extensive list of notable artists such as; Green Day (American Idiot Musical), Tommy Shaw (Styx, Damn Yankees, Shaw/Blades), Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Shaw Blades), Styx, Night Ranger, Shaw/Blades, The Guess Who, Don Felder (Eagles), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Dwight Yoakam, Mickey Thomas (Starship), Robby Krieger (The Doors), Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel), Johnny Lee, Mac Powell (Third Day), Bun E Carlos (Cheap Trick), Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Dave Amatto (REO Speedwagon), Danny Saraphine (Chicago), Ted Nugent, Jeff Carlisi (38 Special),Tommy Thayer (Kiss).
Will Evankovich kicked off 2011 co-producing and performing on Tommy Shaw’s “The Great Divide”, which made its debut on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart at #2. He also helped finish Jack Blades' "Rock and Roll Ride" album slated for release end of March 2012. Will is currently working on Shaw Blades "Influence 2, American Drag 3, and songs for Tommy Shaw's next solo project.
In March of 2014, Will officially joined legendary Classic Rock group "The Guess Who" and is currently touring with them.
In April 2017, Styx released "The Mission", a concept record about a Mission to Mars & beyond which Will co-wrote & produced.
In 2018, The Guess Who is slated to release a new record which Will co-wrote, co-produced, and performed on.
